We stayed in I think it was the stable room out by the paddock at rear of property.It was very cold weekend when we stayed here and with out the extra electric fire it would have been unbearable. Although the rooms are great they have storage heating which did not cope with the cold. Also the bathroom heater only seemed to come on at certian times. This would not stop us staying again but in the warmer weather. Read less

lady owner was great nothing seemed to much trouble for her. Could not bring heating problem to her attention the night we stayed as we returned very late. Breakfast was very good great selection.

Thankyou for your kind comments, as the new owners of this b&b, we aim to improve the heating system in the stable rooms, and although we only moved in april 2011, we have refurbished all rooms and are currently waiting on quotes coming back to install radiators, instead of storage heaters.This is our priority, and intend for the work to be carried out in the next weeks. We have also resited the breakfast room this week, creating a comfortable coffee lounge, another added bonus to the b & b .

The house and gardens looked well maintained and the bedrooms did not disappoint.There is a lovely cosy coffee lounge with a log fire and the welcome and service was excellent. A quiet night's sleep!

We are currently in the process of renovating the property ,we have already spoken to our plumber inconnection with fitting the new sink that we already have for that particular room .He also as been instructed to remove and replace any crome piping that is old and looking tired .In connection with the hand towel we replace the laundry with the linen that we have returned after it is cleaned and can only apologise if it was not clean .

We had planned to go for a meal and Steve recommended the nearby pub and phoned them up to reserve a table for us which was much appreciated. We had such a lovely time both at the B&B and in York itself, that we plan to go back soon. Read less

The B&B has a lovely garden and a field with ponies, sheep and a goat. Upon arrival, our daughter was given some food to feed the animals which she really enjoyed. Terie cooks a fantastic breakfast!
